2010-2011 Fall/Winter Registation, Open House & Equipment Swap
In order to align with USA Hockey and other area associations, we are forced to moved the registration period for the 2010-2011 to a much earlier date than in the past.
The registration period for the Fall/Winter Program will run from June 12, 2010 to June 26. 2010. The registration period will close on Saturday June 26, 2010 with the Registration, Open House and Equipment Swap event at the In-Line Rink at the Pavilion.
The registration packet is attached to this note, and is also available at the Pavilion, and on-line at www.upstatesports.net, in the "Handouts" section. Completed forms can be left at the Pavilion front desk, mailed, or presented at the Registration table on June 26 at the Registration, Open House and Equipment Swap event. Please be aware that you must register with USA Hockey through the USA Hockey website, and provide the USA Hockey Registration document along with the GGHA Registration forms.

2010 Greenville Drive Fundraiser |

'All members of the Greater Greenville Hockey Association are encouraged to participate in this years Greenville Drive fundraiser. Volunteers earn $10 per game towards next years hockey fees for each event they work at Fluor Field.
Upcoming opportunities include June 22 (All Star game). Look for the July dates to be announced soon. Please send an email to greenhockeydriveconcessions@gmail to sign up for a game.' |

Applications for coaching positions for the 2010-2011 Season are now being accepted. If you have been a coach in the past, or are interested in being a coach for the upcoming season, please complete and submit your application. Completed applications may be scanned and sent to Jeremy Kyte at jeremykyte@hotmail.com, or may be left in the Upstate Sports Association or GHA mail slots at the Pavilion. Completed applications are due by May 15th and coaches will be announced by the June 15th. A link to the application can be found on the Upstate website. |

National Champion: Kourtney Menches |

Team Pittsburgh defeated the defending Tier I U14 National Champions Assabet Valley Girls 5-1 on Sunday to win the 2010 National Championship. Greenville^s own Kourtney Menches had 2 goals in the tournament. Team Pittsburgh outscored their opponents 28 to 6 in 6 games to capture the title. |

End of Season Outing |

'An End of Season Outing has been scheduled for Saturday April 10, 2010. The event will be held rain or shine at the Butler Springs Park Shelter, 301 Butler Springs Road, Greenville, SC 29615.
The outing will include food, fun and games for all players and families involved in youth hockey during the 2009-2010 season. Based upon the anticipated number of attendees, and the limitations of the park shelter, we anticipate the need to split up our growing group. The groups and schedule is as follows:
Group 1 - 11:30AM-2:00PM - Mini-Mites/Mites and Squirts
Group 2 - 2:30PM-5:00PM - PeeWee, Bantams, Midgets, High School
There will be remarks and presentation ceremonies for each of the groups, along with some fun games for all to participate in.
Food and drinks will be provided as follows:
Bucky^s BBQ - Chopped Pork, Beans, Bread, Chips, Iced Tea
Burgers & Dogs(for those not into BBQ)
Desserts
Soda & Water
The cost for the End of Season Outing is $5.00 per adult parent/guardian/other, free for players and siblings. Payment will be collected at Butler Springs Park on the day of the outing.
There will be a meeting at 7:00PM on Wednesday March 31 at the Butler Springs Park Shelter for those wishing to help out with preparation, and also with conducting the outing.' |
